Paul Schmidt

Paul Schmidt, 29, from Silverton, Oregon, headed toward Mount St. Helens on May 17 to take pictures of the volcano. He drove his red Toyota to near Spud Mountain, 7 miles northwest of the volcano. His remains were discovered beneath a log by salvage cutters in July 1982.
