Richard Parker
Donald Parker, 45, and his wife Natalie Parker, 50, who lived in Westport, Oregon, and Don’s nephew Richard Parker, 28, who lived in Shelton, Washington, died of ash asphyxiation in a cabin near a gold and silver mine they were developing about 9 miles northeast of the volcano. Both Donald and his nephew worked in the mining industry and hoped to strike it rich on their claim near Mount St. Helens.
